Sky’s the limit for Dawson Shanahan apprentices

We’re celebrating the excellent performance of our apprentices this month as they prepare to move onto the next levels of their NVQ training following a year of hard work.

The team of five apprentices has thrived in our dedicated apprentice training programme, successfully balancing theoretical study at college with practical learning in our busy engineering facility.

As part of the training programme, the apprentices work alongside our experienced professionals on real projects to develop valuable knowledge and a wide range of skills that will enable them to progress a career in the dynamic world of engineering.

Due to the success of this year’s group of apprentices, we’re now recruiting a number of new young people interested in pursuing a career in engineering as part of an expansion of the apprenticeship programme. The new apprentices will have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of our current crop to gain nationally recognised qualifications at the same time as developing practical experience and earning a wage.

“We’re delighted with the performance of this year’s group of apprentices. They’ve bought into what we do here and applied themselves from the very start of their training,” said Les Reeves, Joint Managing Director of Dawson Shanahan. “This is just the start for each of these talented apprentices. They need to continue developing to attain their NVQs and then the sky really is their limit.

“We’re now looking for a handful of new apprentices to join our talented team. Our programmes are well structured and tailored to ensure our apprentices develop a wide range of skills. We support each individual throughout their training and provide them with everything they need to begin their career in engineering.”
